My Role: I worked on the Men's footwear designs, development, and building collections for 6 seasons. As well as collaboration projects with MARVEL, Hasbro, Liberty London, Outerknown and Bloom Algae Foam to grow the business. In addition to my creative design duties, I completed footwear trends and material research, development assurance and communications, merchandising seasonal lines, global presentations, and managing milestones.

The assortment of Toms_footwear styles I created in teams with design, development, & merchants taking it to multiple sales markets including new silhouettes ranging from sneakers, boots, slippers, slip-ons, loafers, espadrilles, and flip flops.

THREE NEW BOOTS DESIGN:

Hawthorne_2,

and Paramount

The goal of these three boots was to appeal to the current consumer and update them with the new design elements established throughout the Men’s line for Fall/ Winter 2020 season. The Ashland_and Hawthorne have been a staple in the Men’s lifestyle line but no longer analogous among the new shoes, so I updated the upper pattern and outsole details to appear modern and still function as an outdoor rugged boot. The Paramount was added to the Men’s boot collection to offer a retro one-piece upper boot popular in the late 70’s and trending for our consumer.

Made for the urban cityscape with the functionality to withstand the fall weather elements of water and dirt.

Ideation + Prototyping

Process: ideation sketches, renderings, presentations, tech packs, multiple pullover samples, shell pattern revisions, hardware & materials sourcing, and final revisions.

SUSTAINABILITY SUCCESS:

100% Eco-Friendly Flip Flop

The idea of the Toms_x_Outerknown collaboration started with a goal to build something in high regard for the environment and design a better-looking product with full transparency between two brands. The collaborative challenge was whether using 100% sustainable materials was possible. Months of research, experimentation, and pullovers were examined before we finally succeeded in a collection of the Toms Lagoon in 3 colorways.

MARVEL_x_TOMS COLLABORATION:

Kids Collection

This collaboration is Toms largest footwear units ever sold to date. The assortment spans approximately 23 SKUs across all categories, with my main assignment as the kid’s collection leader. While working with MARVEL’s creative department, we selected 4 hallmark characters to design upon then I adopted the Ultimate and Kawaii art style guide. Although a MARVEL fan myself, further character and footwear research was collected to properly reference each superhero’s details to implement into the shoes.
